{Parisian Inspiration} Cafés Parisiens

Hello Lovelies. How about some Parisian inspiration to end the weekend? Spring is around the corner and I am impatient to sit at the terrace of a Café with my girlfriends and feel the sun on my face. This is the ultimate Parisian experience. I love sitting there for hours, share confidences with my friends and, of course, bitch about the people going by! I am counting the days… What about you? What do you like to do the most when the weather gets warmer?

{Home} Dramatic Drapery

Hello lovelies! I am back today with some home decor inspirations. I just love the look and feel of beautiful curtains in a room, especially with long draperies. They can give such a luxurious touch to any place. Used either for the windows, as a way to separate a room or as a replacement to a door, curtains are so versatile. Below I have selected a few pictures that inspired me. Some of them are fantastic, I mean curtains in the bathroom? {Beauty} The Perfect Ponytail

Hello ladies, I just had a new hair cut and I am searching for some hair inspirations so I don’t look the same every day. I am a bit ashamed to admit it but I don’t know how to do a beautiful ponytail. And by beautiful I mean anything that doesn’t look like I am about to hit the gym or to start cleaning my home.

Loose Ponytail

I have come across some pretty pictures of ponytails. Some are romantic, some are sleek and elegant, some are messy (but still looking good) and some are, well, just a bit weird, like the last picture from the Dior Haute Couture show.

I wish I was like those girls who manage to change their hairstyles every day, with ponytails, chignons or braids, but I don’t have the patience to learn and I just end up wearing the same style over and over again (sigh…).  I think its time to start practicing.

How about guys? I am the only one with two left hands?

{Style Icone} Nicole Warne

Hello lovelies, today I am introducing a new category of articles called {Style Icone} where I will talk about women who’s style inspire me. You all know an actress, a fashion editor or an It-Girl, who’s style is so exquisite you wish you could secretly rob their closet to look exactly like them. In this section, I will feature women who, from my point of view, have an impeccable sense of style. Starting off this new series with Nicole Warne, the astonishing blogger behind GarryPepper Girl

In Garry Pepper, she displays an incredible sense of style: delicate, feminine and quirky. And, the pictures, mostly taken by her boyfriend Luke Shadbolt, are simply breathtaking.

I have compiled a selection of looks that I love. Let me know in the comment section if you love her style as much as I do!

If you want to know more about her, there are some great interviews in the Coveteur and in Into the Gloss

{Fashion} The Hat Conundrum

The case of the hat

I need a hat. A wide one that gives you that mysterious air when you walk down the street. Although I don’t know how practical it must be in the metro…

I believe that a beautiful hat can be a great accessory that can change a whole look. However, I don’t feel comfortable wearing one in public. Call me crazy but it is not that usual to see women with big hats on the streets of Paris. And the city is not known for being eccentric.

Unlike New York or London, people can be very judgmental and will stare at you if wear something slightly hors-norme. So until now I have never had the courage to buy one.

So what do you think? Should I invest in one? Let me know in the comments!

{Home} Decorating as a couple

White couch hot pink pillow home inspiration

Recently a friend of mine came to me with this question: “Rhizlaine, I loved your blush decoration article, but living as a couple it would be hard for me to put that much pink everywhere in my apartement. How can I keep that girliness wihtout scaring my boyfriend off?”

I completely understand her concern since, if I was living by myself my appartement would basically look like this:

pink room

Yep, I know, that’s a LOT of pink. But you may have noticed by now that I am definetly a “girly girl” and that I love pink, satin and bows.

However, when you live with someone you may have to compromise. So I have gathered some inspiration to help you keep a feminine touch among a more neutral decoration.

The bottom-line:

  • use lots of neutrals: white, grey or beige
  • add some black accents
  • throw in small touches of gold and/or pink
  • flowers are always a must!

What do you think of my selection? How did you managed to decorate as a couple?
